Else Skjold is Assistant Professor, Ph.D. in Design Management and Sustainability at Design School Denmark. She is trained in culture and communication (MA 2003, Copenhagen University), and has since worked as a freelance fashion writer for various Danish magazines (2003-7), and as a researcher at Design School Kolding and Copenhagen Business School (2008-14).

In her research, she combines deep user understanding – through her so-called ‘wardrobe studies’ – with design-driven business development. She is currently one of the leading DK voices in the public debate about fashion and sustainability, where she is known for promoting design as an engine for creating new narratives, new systems and new consumer patterns for the future fashion industry.
