PERFORMANCE CONCERT BODY & COSTUMES AS A VISUAL LANGUAGE
LYDMOR, BISSE AND FEVER RAY
These artists were among the strongest performances this year at Roskilde festival. All three showed us intense concerts with powerful costumes, naked bodies and visuals as their language. They all questioned the often one-dimensional depictions of gender, sexuality, beauty and ageing, and how this has influenced the contemporary world, as the boundaries of what bodies should look like the days are increasingly being explored by the music and fashion industry. All three concerts showed us how music and fashion play an important part when it comes to break down boundaries and question our society.
Thursday night one of Copenhagen Fashion Films favourite artist LYDMOR played a sublime late night concert at Klub Rå. LYDMOR was and showed the audience who was in charge. With a very strong visual look, she managed to give a solid performance concert that really made an impact. In see-through cocoons, naked UV painted bodies came to live to the ongoing beat and singing. they stayed a while with LYDMOR on stage and then disappeared into the crowd of the audience. Pure naked and in a fantastic see-through winge gown BISSE was at his best. He is truly a talent for making a performance interesting and memorable. We can´t wait to follow him further on. Check out the performance in this video from Roskilde festivals youtube:
Always amazing Fever Ray took on the stage in specially made costumes that celebrated the diversity of the human body. Fever Ray is known for making these intense and performative concerts that leave us with a lust for more and this night was no exception. FEVER RAY YOU HAD US AT HALLO!
