Read our Q&A with Gus&Lo - the winner of the prize: BEST INTERNATIONAL FASHION FILM and BEST IDEA for “Look Into My Eyes”.
Q: What was your original concept for making the film?
A: We always have a obsession about the eyes, it has been an important subject on all the art for all along the history. We wanted to make our own interpretation of the eyes. This piece is a reflexion of the way we look into things and a the eye it self.
Q: What was the biggest challenge for you in the process of making this film.
A: The way we translate abstract ideas into motion images was the biggest challenge, when you are experimenting you never now what is going to happen at the end. This was a very interesting work for us because we made it with a very open mind and trying to see how would be come up everything together.
Q: Why make a fashion film?
A: Fashion film is a language that allows you to experiment with very different things. We think that fashion film is a genres that is still to discovered. I love fashion and we love the context and the social language that there is surrounded. We are not trying to make art, we are working to show fashion and wardrobe, that’s the main thing and them put everything in a strong concept.
Q: What makes fashion film different to other short film genres?
A: Fashion film is a very specific genre and very open in other way. Everybody has their own opinion but for us it has to be related with fashion, the way you tell your concept is totally up to you and that is the most attractive thing. There is so much freedom into a fashion film.
